OPENTEXT

OpenText is a global leader in information management, where innovation, creativity, and collaboration are the key components of our corporate culture. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to partner with the most highly regarded companies in the world, tackle complex issues, and contribute to projects that shape the future of digital transformation.

Global Information Security (GIS) leverages our people, processes and technology to develop new digitalization efforts that ensure our enterprise systems’ reliability, minimize staff interaction, and most importantly, protect our customers’ data. Companies are recognizing the need to digitize information and manage alternative work scenarios in today’s changing reality. With this in mind, we work tirelessly to drive improvements across our security services and accelerate our customers’ digital journey in a safe and trusted environment.

Security Risk is the team that identifies security gaps that represent a threat to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. Through security architecture, vulnerability scanning and vendor risk evaluations risks are identified and documented for risk owners.

Your Impact

The Director of Security Architecture will lead a team of security architects responsible for enhancing the security of OpenText's commercial and corporate products. This role involves reviewing product architectures, providing expert recommendations to bolster security, and ensuring the organization's products meet the highest standards. You will also oversee the third-party penetration testing practice and manage the organization's threat and vulnerability management (TVM) program, ensuring timely identification and remediation of security risks across the enterprise.

What The Role Offers

As a Director of Security Architecture you will:

  • Lead a team of security architects focused on enhancing the security of commercial and corporate products.
  • Oversee the review and approval of proposed security architectures, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Manage third-party penetration testing practices, ensuring thorough assessments, risk mitigation, and follow-up actions on vulnerabilities.
  • Direct threat and vulnerability management practices, driving the identification, assessment, and mitigation of security risks.
  • Collaborate with internal product development, IT, and compliance teams to provide expert security guidance and strengthen architectural resilience.
  • Develop strategies for continuous improvement in security architecture, vulnerability management, and overall product security to address evolving threats.
  • Since OT operates in 60+ countries, should we emphasize the global nature of the role and how security challenges may differ across regions. Should we mention how the director will need to understand regional regulations, manage a diverse team, and apply localized security strategies.
  • Should we highlight familiarity with emerging trends in cyber threats, AI-powered security solutions, and zero-trust architectures, to attract candidates who are forward-thinking.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Cybersecurity Expertise: 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity with a focus on security architecture and vulnerability management.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading security teams and effectively communicating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Security Framework Knowledge: In-depth understanding of security frameworks and best practices for both commercial and enterprise environments.
  • Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Management: Experience managing third-party penetration testing and leading threat management initiatives.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced certifications (CISM, CISSP) preferred.
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to collaborate globally and manage relationships across diverse teams.
  • Ability to understand regional regulations and apply localized security strategies while managing diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with emerging cyber threats, AI-powered security solutions, and zero-trust architectures.
