Hours Your hours of work will follow the flexible work schedule in accordance with Article 19.01(a) of the NAPE-HP Collective Agreement, based on 150 hours within a designated 4 week period (by mutual agreement). Salary CG 46 ($47.77 - $56.45)
The following Sign on Incentives may be applicable and can be combined:

Job Summary
This is a specialized clinical position in which the incumbent is responsible for the provision of inpatient psychological services for the Harbour Grace Adult Addictions Treatment Centre. The incumbent provides psychological assessment, formulation of DSM-5 diagnoses and therapeutic intervention, on an individual and group basis, to treat adults with addictions who have been admitted to the Centre for addiction treatment. This clinician applies psychological knowledge and principles in clinical practices related to crisis management, suicide risk assessment and substance related and addictive disorders. Providing clinical direction and consultation to interdisciplinary teams and participating in educational, administrative and research activities is required.

This position reports to the Program Manager and maintains accountability to the Psychology Professional Practice Consultant for professional integrity and practice issues.

Regularly sits, occasionally works in awkward/cramped positions, stands to facilitate or teach groups.
Fine finger/precision work when on the computer and visual concentration is required when in sessions with patients (i.e. reviewing patient charts/notes, tests and for documenting work, and when reading or researching information).
Auditory concentration is required in sessions with patients to listen attentively, to be alert and to obtain and interpret information correctly. A higher than normal level of attentiveness is required when assessing high risk patients.

Job Qualifications
Graduation with an approved/recognized Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology is required.
Registration or provisional registration with Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board is required.
Graduate course work and supervised experience in mental health and addictions is required.
Clinical experience in the provision of comprehensive psychological assessment and therapy to individuals, families and groups is required.
Knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques/strategies in the area of addictions is preferred.
Exhibited strong communication, program development and evaluation skills.
Possessed proven analytical, critical reasoning, collaboration, problem solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to direct, supervise and mentor students.
Demonstrated ability to effectively translate and communicate knowledge in the specialized area of psychology practice to others.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional environment and provide clinical consultation.
Ability to work autonomously, prioritizing caseloads and client needs.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a constructive working rapport with clients.
Demonstrated strong awareness of ethical principles and standards of professional conduct.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
