The daily route of a HR Generalist: 

  • Communicate to internal stakeholders in Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations
  • Promote and educate employees on company offerings, programs and processes
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements (federal and provincial)
  • Ensure compliance with all Labour Law and Health and Safety regulations and respond and resolve work orders issued
  • Handle employee complaints and incidents, including accidents, health and safety concerns, work refusals, investigations and provide resolution
  • Conduct workplace investigations and resolve any conflicts that arise among staff
  • Coach Managers and execute progressive disciplinary action process in accordance with established procedures
  • Execute effective exit interviews and provide recap to HR Manager
  • Assist in ensuring job descriptions are current and assist in creating new ones for new roles
  • Conduct employee onboarding and offboarding, and help organize equipment and training/orientation as required
  • Attend recruitment fairs as requested, supporting Field and/or Corporate recruiting efforts
  • Assist in developing and providing recommendations for policies and processes for corporate employees and/or corporate shops employees
  • Provide coaching to managers on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development
  • Monitor employee compliance training, ensuring that all requirements are met
  • Assist in planning and organizing employee events and recreational activities as required
  • Respond to HR requests and provide general information and assistance over the phone, electronically in HR Help and in person
  • Assist HR leadership in creating, launching and enhancing HR initiatives, 
  • Other related duties as assigned

 

The pilot we are looking for: 

  • University or College Diploma, preferably in business specializing in Human Resources, or equivalent
  • A CHRP designation or working towards is considered an asset
  • 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist
  • Bilingualism, French and English (written and spoken) an asset
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
  • Work experience or education in employment law or other area of regulations preferred
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
  • Travel may be required in Coporate offices and Coporates shops.
