Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++ or Python programming language.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • Experience with the machine learning tool TensorFlow.
  • Experience with computer vision algorithms and tools (e.g. OpenCV), image and video processing, multi-view geometry.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools, artificial intelligence, deep learning.
  • Experience with object detection, object tracking, or gesture recognition models.

The team mission is to provide egocentric perception solutions for Google to enable immersive human-machine interactions. The ML team is striving to improve existing models and algorithms, while also researching novel approaches to achieve faster and more accurate performance on a variety of vision applications.

The Google Augmented Reality team is a diverse group of experts tasked with building the foundations for great immersive computing and building helpful, delightful user experiences. We're focused on making immersive computing accessible to billions of people through mobile devices, and our scope continues to grow and evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop infrastructure/pipelines to build end-to-end perception systems. Depending on the specific project, this may involve training and evaluating deep learning models, data processing, and productionization of prototype systems.
  • Optimize algorithms run-time efficiency and integrate in the product platform.
  • Write production-quality C++, Python code, and tests.
  • Communicate, design, and implement decisions effectively through architecture/design documents and code.
  • Work collaboratively with other developing teams to optimize performance and usability for use cases that leverage Machine Learning (ML) perception models on a novel platform.
