About The Role

We’re looking for a Claims Representative II, Comm Property, to join our growing team!

What You'll Do Here

  • Responsible for representing the company in the negotiation and settlement of claims.
  • Direct handle or examine claims involving subscriptions, lead market share claims and special program accounts
  • Participate in the management of claims involving Litigation.
  • Working within the guidelines of the Best Practices you will investigate, negotiate and settle losses for mid-complex claims up to $150,000 for personal line losses and $200,000 for commercial losses.
  • Conduct analysis and assessment processes including analysis of coverage, quantum and liability assessments.
  • Follow reserving practices, you will manage indemnity and expenses to ensure accurate and timely financials of exposures are maintained and adhered on each claim file.
  • Participate in management of losses and expense reserves.
  • Assign and direct the activities of independent adjusters where required.
  • Identify, assign and manage the necessity of expert involvement on claims and being mindful of claim cost control.
  • Assist with unit priorities including training and development of staff and other duties as assignment by the Unit Manager.

What You Bring To The Table

  • University degree/college diploma preferred, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of property claims handling experience, commercial claims preferred.
  • Ongoing commitment to self-development.
