The Work Execution and UWPC Services department is a key member of HydroOne’s commitment to decarbonizing the grid. If you would like to get meaning work experience with major capital projects ($1B per year), then this 4 to 8 month coop could be for you. Working with our dedicated team of professionals, you will develop plans to deliver major electrical projects from conceptual stages to a completed product that will serve Ontarians for years to come. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter, capable of working independently in assisting our team supporting capital projects. This exciting opportunity will expose you to areas of project planning, practical ACAD usage, stations work environment and travel to various project sites throughout the province. The Outage Planning department provides support in project planning, coordinating construction activities and ensuring a safe work area for personnel.
What You Will Do For Us
Drafting staging plans.
Gain an understanding in the Utility Work Protection Code (UWPC).
General office duties as required.
Participate in project meetings (some travel may be required).
What we will do for you
Gain valuable exposure in the following areas;
Stations and Lines Construction services.
Stations Maintenance and Protection and Control.
Operating.
Project Delivery.
Expenses paid travel to site locations.
Selection Criteria
Valid G class drivers license.
Proficient in MS office suite
Proficient in AutoCAD
Able to work in an office environment
Able to travel
Able to work in a field setting
Excellent communication skills.
Team player.
Enrolled in a Electrical Engineering Technology program
Hydro One requires that all students applying for student opportunities be enrolled in post-secondary level studies and be returning to full-time studies upon the completion of their work term.
