ACCOUNTABLE TO: Manager of CFS and Registrar

Brief Overview

Under the direction of the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan Provincial Citizenship Registry the Regional Coordinator will be responsible working with Ministry’s to assist children in care with registering as Métis citizens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the creation and continued improvement of registration processes for children in care.
  • Scheduling, planning, monitoring, and evaluating Registry staff.
  • Complete the application intake process, including database entry, and general genealogy research.
  • Building and retaining partnerships with MN-S departments, affiliates, community, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of the operating budget and maintain inventory and budgetary controls.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overnight travel for meetings, mobile intake, and special events.
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality briefing notes, monthly reports, statistics, submissions, and presentations.
  • Working in collaboration with Regional Managers and the Registry team to meet the objectives and deliverables of the Registry.
  • Providing support for Mobile intake, reviewing data entry, and applications for the Registry Department.
  • Processing expenditures, travel claims, and expenses for the Registry Department.
  • Partnership development with Social Services Ministry.
  • Providing guidance to staff and citizens on the requirements to registered as a Métis citizen.
  • Recommending innovative ways of addressing MN–S gaps in registry services for children in care.
  • Researching, formulating, and recommending ways to increase registration for Métis in communities.
  • Training new Registry staff members.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the registration process.
  • Ensuring that all electronic data and files are properly safeguarded.
  • Participate in specialized training and professional development.
  • Performing other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to act with tact and discretion and maintain confidentiality of clientele.
  • Ability to work methodically, accurately and neatly under pressure with shifting deadlines.
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team or independently.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite, Adobe, Zoom, and basic office equipment.
  • Trustworthy and reliable.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Business Administration or Social Work or relevant field, and/or a related discipline and 2-3 years of direct working experience.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role.

Additional Requirements

  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license Class 5 and access reliable transportation.
