Production Manager

Job Overview:

The Production Manager will lead the production facility, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and production standards. This inspiring Production Manager will lead, coach, mentor and motivate a high-performance team to uphold Steelway Building Systems' mission of enriching their partners' lives while fostering a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations on the production floor to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes.
• Ensure production schedules and targets are met within specified timeframes and budgets.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering, quality control, and other departments for smooth workflows.
• Manage production budgets, monitor expenses, and seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Allocate resources effectively, including workforce, equipment, and materials, to optimize output.
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Recommend staffing levels for production activities and support recruitment and selection processes.
• Ensure high levels of employee training to support business goals.
• Maintain communication with project managers, builder services team, and engineering/drafting team, providing regular updates on capacity and constraints.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in manufacturing technology to implement innovative solutions.
• Oversee the administration of the Steelway Employee Association agreement and address employee questions and concerns promptly.
• Interact with all production employees while reporting to the VP of Product Fulfillment. Direct reports include Production Leaders, the Manufacturing Scheduler, and the Training and Quality Coordinator.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of industrial custom manufacturing experience with a welding background
• 5 years in direct supervisory roles.
• High level of fabrication knowledge.
• Proven high-energy team player with leadership abilities.
• Engineering or Business degree is an asset.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on team-building and improving output and profitability.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong team-building abilities and capability to work within a high-performance culture.
