JOB PURPOSE

The Carpenter/Cabinet Maker is responsible for performing carpentry or cabinet making work at the journeyman level.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as a carpenter or cabinet maker.
• Must have two years of experience.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Carpenter/Cabinet Maker is responsible for:

• Planning work and estimating time and materials
• Fabricating, repairing or installing cabinets, shelves, windows or doors
• Inspecting, renovating or repairing the interior or exterior of buildings
• Performing preventative maintenance
• Designing or building special applications for patient care
• Installing, finishing or repairing walls, ceilings, floors and fixtures
• Organizing or coordinating work
• Ordering and maintaining inventory and transporting materials
