Our client is seeking a 2-3 year call family law lawyer to work with clients to provide legal advice, guidance and representation in a variety of issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, prenuptial agreements, adoption, and domestic violence. About The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a 2-3 year call family law lawyer to work with clients to provide legal advice, guidance and representation in a variety of issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, property division, prenuptial agreements, adoption, and domestic violence. Opportunity to incorporate wills and estates, as well as, employment law practice.
What You Will Be Doing
- Providing legal advice to clients and explaining their rights and obligations according to family law.
- Drafting legal documents, such as divorce petitions, custody agreements, and prenuptial agreements.
- Negotiating with opposing counsel to reach a settlement in the best interest of their client.
- Representing clients in court and presenting evidence to support their case.
- Conducting legal research to stay up-to-date with changes in family law and using this knowledge to advise clients.
- Collaborating with other professionals such as mediators, therapists, and financial advisers to help clients navigate through difficult and complex family law matters.
- Maintaining confidentiality while handling sensitive and personal matters for clients.
- Advocating for the best interest of their clients in all aspects of family law matters.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LLB degree and are licensed to practice law in Alberta and are in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and judges.
- Must also possess excellent analytical and interpersonal skills along with time-management and organizational skills needed to manage a heavy workload while providing high-quality legal representation.
