Your role
We are looking for Project Managers who are seeking the right opportunity to level their skills in the municipal and developmental infrastructure services sector of our Northern Canada Business Unit based in Ottawa, ON.
You bring previous experience in leading projects varying in scope and complexity in the delivery of municipal development infrastructure projects such as water supply/distribution, storm/wastewater, roads, bridges, capital improvements to existing facilities and/or new construction of a variety of building-types, and other infrastructure projects. You've become known as a trusted advisor to your clients and have built strong, lasting relationships with senior leaders and decision makers

Your role

- Demonstrate company values and cultural behaviours
- Lead development of Assistant Project Managers on your projects
- Delegate and empower Assistant Project Managers
- Build a personal brand
- Grow sales inside existing accounts
- Find opportunities to crossline selling in accounts you manage
- Grow your Fee Income Managed on your projects
- Manage project delivery teams to deliver the quality required by the client
- Manage implementation of the work breakdown structure
- Escalate project deliver and commercial/financial issues to Project Lead
- Responsible for implementing all work on your projects is delivered in accordance with our Quality Management System
- Responsible for Client Satisfaction
- A university degree or diploma in civil engineering or related technical discipline (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, representing owners in the delivery of linear infrastructure (water supply/storage/distribution, storm/wastewater), roads, bridges, building development (fit-up, major renovations, new construction) or similar infrastructure projects
- Experience in delivering projects for a municipality or in a Northern climate would be an asset
- Deep understanding of the engineering design process, value engineering, and approvals necessary to proceed with construction and close out/handover in a municipal or public sector setting
- Proven ability to lead projects and teams delivering infrastructure
- Strong understanding of best practice Project Management methodologies and procedures within a PMO environment
- Effective client and stakeholder management matched with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client and technical issues
- Experience interfacing and managing multiple relationships with external stakeholders including community organizations, special interest groups and funding agencies would be an asset
- Detail oriented leader with the ability to work in a process driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (MS Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications
- occasional travel to Northern Canada a few times a year depending on specific project requirements
- PMP designation would be an asset
