Hatch is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist for 8-16 months for our Technologies – Technology Delivery Group, located in our Mississauga head office, starting September 2024. The Technology Delivery Group at Hatch provides specialized design of a broad range of custom and proprietary technologies primarily in the mining & metals sector.

Responsibilities:


Under the guidance of experienced engineers and designers, students will participate in the design aspects of custom equipment and new product development. Students will be required to directly apply and develop knowledge in mechanical design which may include:

  • Modelling and Design with Solid Modelling tools;
  • Co-ordinate designs with a multi-disciplinary team including structural, mechanical, electrical, process, and instrumentation and controls;
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of various types of mechanical equipment and technologies;
  • Develop prototypes;
  • Become familiar in reviewing fabrication and construction drawings;
  • Improve their technical communication and report writing skills.

Qualifications:

  • Are in their third year of college study in Mechanical Engineering Technology;
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance;
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Have an aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Enjoy taking on new challenges with a commitment to achieving engineering excellence.
