Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Quality Control Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic quality team at our facility in Fredericton, New Brunswick. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate within an innovative and growing organization.
Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, the QC Laboratory Technician will be an integral part of the quality control team. This role will be responsible for the effective execution of laboratory testing procedures, calibration of production equipment, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, technical expertise, desire to achieve quality excellence, and the ability to work harmoniously with other teams.
In this role, the QC Laboratory Technician will have key responsibilities such as:
- Implementation of quality control procedures in accordance with the quality system.
--- Incoming quality control of raw material.
--- In-process quality control
--- Finished goods product testing
- Perform ATP, DNA extraction, and qPCR-based analyses accurately, following strict methodologies.
- Prepare samples for testing using sterile techniques.
- Record all data, interpret results, and maintain quality database records.
- Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment.
- Ensure the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
- Use relevant software programs to record data and perform necessary calculations.
- Keep up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability.
- Follow and adhere to strict laboratory protocols and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Technical Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a laboratory role.
- Highly detail oriented and reliable team player.
- Experience with DNA extraction, PCR, and qPCR testing.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 or similar environment is an asset.
