Position Information

The Sr. Advisor, Talent Acquisition is a key role on the Talent Acquisition team who provides guidance and assistance in providing the most effective and proactive recruitment services at The Ottawa Hospital.

Temporary position until approximately January 31, 2026.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Do

Act as the senior recruitment specialist for the Talent Acquisition team, providing informal leadership to team members and supporting senior hiring leaders on leadership-level recruitment initiatives.

Act as the strategic recruitment and talent optimization business partner, providing expertise and recommendations to the Talent Acquisition Team, the broader Human Resources team, and partners throughout the organization through a specialized knowledge of recruitment/talent related processes, procedures and collective agreement language.

Support future workforce planning initiatives, including analysis around critical workforce segments and further enhancing forecasting beyond current operational requirements.

Be responsible for the continuous tracking and use of key metrics to drive continuous improvement and to make better recruitment decisions, to ultimately improve the quality of hire.

Be responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive, proactive recruitment strategies to attract top talent for all areas of the organization.

Stay informed of recruitment best practices to facilitate continuous improvement of processes and strategies.

What You Will Bring

Four (4) year undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related program;

Five Years of progressive Human Resources experience with a strong focus on Talent Acquisition, Talent Sourcing or Talent Management;

Experience in HR analytics and reporting;

Experience in providing advice and support regarding Talent Acquisition, involving, but not limited to, workforce analysis, sourcing strategies, relevant assessment tools, social recruitment, interviewing techniques, etc;

Experience in preparing for, presenting and representing the hospital at grievances as well as experience advising negotiations team on TA-related strategies;

Proven technical expertise in Talent Acquisition as demonstrated from working in a high volume, complex unionized environment;

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and negotiation skills. Ability to interact competently and confidently and build relationships with and influence internal and external partners;

Leadership skills with the ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development;

Exceptional analytical skills, able to interpret and leverage data to drive recruitment strategies and decision-making;

Keen understanding of employer branding and its impact on recruitment.

You will stand out with:

Registered Professional Recruiter, Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP);

Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
