Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Steward at Gordon Ramsay Steak is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and its equipment, supporting the culinary team by ensuring all tools and workspaces are clean, sanitized, and ready for use. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of food safety and hygiene required in a fine dining environment. The Steward also ensures adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, leads by example and exemplifies Great Canadian’s service culture while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas according to health and safety standards.
  • Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment as needed.
  • Properly dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables, following waste management procedures to minimize waste.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Provide support to the culinary team by ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working condition.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs for kitchen equipment.
  • Replenish kitchen supplies, such as dishwashing soap, cleaning chemicals, and paper products.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain the cleanliness of kitchen floors to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with members of the culinary team to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Help receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education And Qualifications

  • Available to work up to 40 hours per week and or as business requires in a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends as we operate seven days a week.
  • Minimum 6 months work experience
  • Ability to quickly adapt to different kitchen environments and requirements.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of working efficiently under pressure.
  • High School Diploma
  • Level 1 FoodSafe.
  • Able to successfully obtain a Criminal Records Check.
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development.
