Programmer Analyst Universe

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Universe Programmer Analyst to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves the administration, development, programming, and maintenance of the Rocket Universe system. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional user support, engage in report creation, and deliver training as necessary. You will collaborate closely with the IT Manager to lead various development initiatives, ensuring a customer-focused and service-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the IT Manager to provide comprehensive support across multiple sites in North America.
• Oversee daily system administration of Universe, including user account management and permission settings.
• Coordinate with various departments to seamlessly integrate Universe with other applications and processes.
• Develop and implement custom modifications to optimize operational efficiency and functionality.
• Offer expert-level support to users, including troubleshooting, training, and problem resolution.
• Ensure that the Universe system aligns with business requirements and compliance with IT policies.
• Supervise and coordinate outsourced work related to the Universe system.
• Analyze, design, and implement solutions, including the development of reports and documentation.
• Maintain support for custom integrations and ensure thorough documentation for future reference.
  
  

Required Skills

• Advanced expertise in Rocket Software Universe 8.5 or later, coupled with development and support experience.
• Proficient in Red Hat Linux version 5.2 and above.
• Strong aptitude for writing technical documentation, including functional requirements and flowcharting.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities with a technical approach.
• Exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal forms, with a customer-focused mindset.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  
  

Qualifications

• A university degree in a relevant information technology field is required.
• Prior experience of at least 5 years in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• PMP certification is a valuable asset, but not mandatory.
• Experience with supporting a full ERP system is preferred.
