  • This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

We are seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our Total Rewards team. Reporting to the Team Leader, HR Operations and Payroll, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 2,300 Canadian employees across multiple provinces. All will be accomplished utilizing SAP (S4 and SuccessFactors) and ADP (Workforce Now) systems.


You Will Use Your Expertise To:

  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of Canadian payroll processing using SAP and ADP
  • Run interfaces to 3rd party systems
  • Identify pay anomalies based on knowledge of company policies/practices
  • Provide guidance to leaders, employees, internal and outsourced providers on payroll systems and processes
  • Test upgrades and changes to Payroll programs in SAP and ADP
  • Generate, implement and document new payroll processes
  • Prepare reports as needed/requested
  • Participate in HR/Payroll related projects as assigned


What We Are Looking For:

  • University graduate with 3-5 years related experience or 7-9 years combination of post-secondary education and Payroll experience
  • High level of proficiency in SAP.
  • Familiar with ADP or similar programs, interface mechanics and other computer programs (Business Objects, Word, Excel)
  • Current knowledge of legislative programs that affect payroll: taxation, government programs
  • Ability to work in high volume/pressure environment with minimal supervision
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, along with demonstrated ability to manage time sensitive, deadline driven and confidential work
  • Proven ability to recognize potential issues and resolve or seek expertise as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others across the organization and externally
  • Strong initiative to improve processes/tools
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities to deliver quality results.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn US Payroll practices

Additional Information:

  • Relocation will NOT be considered for this position
  • Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
