Collections Specialist

Description

Are you an experienced Collections Specialist looking for an exciting opportunity? Our client, a well-established company in Mississauga, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to manage collections for their branch. This is a full-time, fully on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service and deliver exceptional results in the collection of outstanding commercial and consumer receivables.
• Conduct collection calls for all past-due accounts within your assigned portfolio.
• Contact past-due customers by phone and email, requesting payments, and negotiating payment arrangements in line with company policies.
• Assess and mitigate risk by referring accounts for further action when necessary.
• Review and analyze Accounts Receivables to identify problem accounts and initiate the reconciliation or dispute resolution process.
• Obtain and prepare credit information, recommending credit limits for Credit Supervisor’s approval when required.
• Achieve individual collection targets to support department and company goals.
• Manage portal and national accounts effectively.
  
  

Requirements

• Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of previous collections experience with strong knowledge of credit and collections practices within a large corporate environment.
• Certification from the Credit Institute of Canada is highly valued.
• Proven experience in collections, with a solid understanding of credit processes.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently, handle high-volume workloads, and meet targets.
• Proficiency in handling commercial and consumer accounts, with experience managing portals and national accounts.
