Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Jockey tractors, trailers, trucks to and from the docks, drive-thru, and compound areas.
• Safely and efficiently manage traffic flow in the yard.
• Co-ordinate with drivers (common carrier and PBC) to check in/check out at appropriate door.
• Ensure PBC trailers in the yard are in assigned spots.
• Communicate loading information to and from the Delivery/Production Departments and Shipper/Receiver/Checker
• Reports tractor/trailer damages/deficiencies to the fleet department
• Red tag tractors/trailers as required.
• Work within a team environment.
• Complete and hand in circle check report at the beginning of the shift
• Follow Control & Compliance Rules and Regulations
• Maintain work area in a neat and tidy condition.
• Coordinate with Fleet with transferring of assets between the yard/East Lot and the shop to support their repair/service schedule.
• Communicate with 3rd party carriers to have trailers picked up to help clear space in both our lots.
• Work with Operations Supervisors (Production, Warehouse, and Delivery) to further proper yard management.
• Train delivery drivers with shunting procedures to help cover vacations and sick calls.
