The Senior Manager, North American Foodservice Marketing, is responsible for the strategic direction of the Foodservice channel to include Branded and Private Label business. The primary function is to provide leadership and direction on tactical and strategic initiatives supporting the Foodservice Marketing and Operating plan. From branding and portfolio management to P&L and customer initiatives, this role provides general management leadership for the channel.

Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction for the marketing planning, processes and key deliverables. Leverage data and insights to develop overall brand positioning in foodservice channel, the marketing plan and near-term strategies
  • Ownership of the financial P&L for the Distributor and National Accounts channels, including budgeting. This includes monitoring on weekly and quarterly results, addressing gaps in the budget with Sales and Operations.
  • Responsible for developing Marketing strategy and planning (short and long-term) and execute with excellence. Aspects to include branding, product portfolio, packaging directions, promotions, pricing and planning.
  • Responsible for current product / portfolio management in terms of strategy, structure, mix and performance. It includes leading and owning the lifecycle of products from introduction to changes, optimization, spec management and rationalization (discontinuation/EOL and ECN process). This role will work with the larger ECN team to ensure alignment, and timelines are met with desired results.
  • Interface with the Sales team, provide insights for operators/customers and work with Innovation team to identify new product ideas and the define pipeline. This role will create the project scope and oversee the transition from concept to development with the Innovation Team.
  • Leads the communication and execution of Foodservice marketing programs within the larger organization as it relates to products, promotions, and marketing initiatives, including trade show and industry events.
  • Supports the Sales team in building key customers business opportunities by leveraging operator, market and category insights.
  • Supports the Sales team with tools in the selling process and able to help convert business in the field.
  • Provides guidance to ensure a high performing team. Invest in development and training opportunities able to foster growth for direct reports.
  • Establishes, builds, and maintains key internal and external relationships, including cross functional teams, other franchises, sales, and opinion leaders
  • Keeps up to date on trends and dynamics driving the seafood and foodservice industry. Incorporate learnings into recommended strategies and plans.

Qualifications

  • 5- 7 years of progressive work experience in marketing, advertising, or a related field
  • 3-5 years direct Foodservice experience – familiarity with distribution, national accounts and associated marketing responsibilities
  • 3+ years of direct work experience in a managerial capacity in marketing or advertising
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field
  • MBA or business related equivalent preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of the marketing and product planning process.
  • Strong cross-functional management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively utilize internal resources to meet project deadlines and objectives
  • Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage and coordinate the end-to-end development process while meeting deadlines and budget requirements
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • High attention to detail and quality standards
  • Comfortable presenting data and strategies and leading discussions with internal and external customers
