Roles And Responsibilities

As a Content Specialist, you will be involved in producing, editing, and managing high-quality content across multiple platforms, including the Member Secure Website (MSW), Supplier portal, and internal knowledge-sharing systems. The Content Specialist will collaborate closely with teams to develop strategic and engaging content that aligns with Canadian Government guidelines, BGRS brand standards, and client-specific requirements. This role will focus on delivering accurate, well-researched materials such as fact sheets, quick tips, FAQs, virtual presentations, and dynamic messaging solutions.

Key responsibilities include updating existing materials to reflect contractual and client-specific changes, creating engaging blogs and articles, and developing efficient solutions for customer interactions via chat, email, and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing skills, the ability to adapt content to unique client tones, and a collaborative mindset to drive original content ideas. This position also requires conducting thorough research to ensure content relevancy and accuracy while supporting broader content management initiatives.

In addition to the outlined duties, the Content Specialist will engage in ongoing brainstorming, content strategy development, and participate in improving the efficiency of knowledge-sharing platforms to enhance both internal operations and client services.

  • Collect, produce, and edit Member Secure Website (MSW) material such as Fact Sheets, Quick Tips, Virtual Information Presentations (VIPs) and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to maintain and improve the quality of information provided to CAF members
  • Collect, produce, and edit Supplier material to maintain and improve the quality of information provided to Suppliers
  • Develop and implement content on the MSW, Supplier portal and Izone sites
  • Write strategic and persuasive content ensuring consistency across Canadian Government groups, adherence to the BGRS brand and content style standards, and accuracy of spelling and grammar.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop original creative content and solutions; collaborate on the execution
  • Update existing MSW content to reflect changes to current/future contract changes, Client specific content updates and member/transferee questions/trends
  • Engage in conceptual brainstorms and idea generation with teams
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the writing style, message and tone unique to our client base and create content reflective of the clients personality.
  • Conduct research to enhance Canadian Government content including identifying relevant topics, fact-checking, and analyzing sources to generate information.
  • Create Macro and shortcut content for use in Zendesk to improve work efficiency for email and chat interactions
  • Create dynamic Interactive Voice Response (IVR) messaging based on time of year, needs, and trends based on call, email and chat interactions
  • Create monthly content pieces, such as blogs and articles for the Ottawa Campus
  • Create, enhance and link the knowledge center to the new technology platform allowing for search and quick response functions for both Operations and Clients based on key words search
  • Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities related to the role not specifically outlined herein

Qualifications and preferred skills (Qualifications, Skills, Education or Certification Requirements, etc.)

Education/Certification Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in a related field from a recognized college/university or equivalent experience

Qualifications And Experience Requirements

  • Knowledge of creative tools & software, such as Illustrator, Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Background in relocation services would be an asset
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently but is also able to collaborate with a global team
  • Knowledge of Government of Canada contracts, with specializing in Relocation services
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Problem solver who can lead team through situations through rational approach, mature judgment and clear coordination of tasks
  • Proven influencing, judgment and decision-making skills
  • Bilingual (French/English) an asset
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as dictated by business needs

Other Information

  • Reliability status security clearance granted by CIISD, PWGSC is required; the security clearance application will be facilitated via the BGRS Company Security Officer (CSO)
