Your every day with us

As an Actuarial Analyst, no two days will look the same. You'll have the opportunity to play a significant role in the development of new individual insurance products and collaborate with people from various teams from Blue Cross organizations across Canada. You'll need strong analytical skills and a love for data/analytics.

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will

  • Create and/or populate actuarial models to price various individual life products and revisions;
  • Actively collaborate with a multidisciplinary product development team on initiatives related to individual products;
  • Monitor market and experience trends to provide input in the product pricing and design;
  • Communicate with reinsurance partners regarding quotations and technical pricing models and evaluate reinsurance treaties;
  • Develop a performance reporting package related to the profitability of product lines as well as emerging business and industry trends;
  • Support the implementation and testing of new products or product changes in quotation tools and administrative systems;
  • Continue ongoing enhancements of our internal processes to support our efficiency initiatives.

What you need to succeed

  • At least 3-4 years experience in an actuarial role focused on individual life insurance;
  • Passed 4 or more exams from the Society of Actuaries;
  • Good knowledge of AXIS;
  • Reinsurance and IFRS-17 experience would be considered assets;
  • Bilingualism (EN/FR) is considered an asset.English is requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders.
