Position Information

The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) Psychology

Incumbents will be part of an accomplished, collegial and vibrant group of Psychology staff, who are actively involved in clinical service, research, teaching and training. TOH Psychology has a CPA accredited predoctoral internship program in Clinical Psychology. Psychologists also have academic appointments with the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa and supervise doctoral level practicum students. Psychologists are provided opportunity to participate in professional development opportunities, including TOH Psychology Lunch and Learn activities. Early career psychologists at TOH can participate in a mentorship group. As highly valued members of the TOH team, Psychologists are often involved in program and corporate initiatives to enhance patient care.

The Ontario Workers Network (OWN) at The Ottawa Hospital is part of a provincial network of occupational rehabilitation clinics providing specialized interdisciplinary services for mental health and physical injuries. We leverage our partners, technology and shared learnings to offer integrated, high quality and coordinated care closer to home. We are seeking a psychologist with an interest in transforming healthcare and enhancing team collaboration. In this role, the psychologist will provide outpatient assessments and treatment to help clients navigate their recovery journey. The psychologist will also play a key role in providing: supervision to mental health providers; consultation to physical medicine and rehabilitation teams; education to third-party stakeholders (e.g., insurers); and, the development of evidence-based programming.

Temporary position until approximately April 08, 2025.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Doctorate in Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology program;
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the College of Psychologists of Ontario;
  • Completion of a CPA or APA accredited internship;
  • Declared area of competency in Clinical;
  • Experience in psychodiagnostic assessment and treatment of outpatients with pain conditions and co-morbid medical and psychological conditions;
  • Ability to supervise/lead/coach/mentor;
  • Ability to work cooperatively in an inter-professional setting;
  • Experience working with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications;
  • Superior written, verbal and presentation skills;
  • Superior interpersonal skills;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with WSIB patients;
  • Declared area of competency in Health or Rehabilitation Psychology;
  • Proficiency in English and French ¿ oral expression (superior level) and comprehension (superior level).
