We are looking for a Manager, Software Development to join our Vancouver-based Information Systems team. As passionate IT people, we are faced with complex problems that are ideally solved with technology. What You Will Do

You will provide the leadership for the team, including responsible for systems strategy, project planning and implementation as well as providing on-going operations of related systems.

Your team will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting business applications, as well as owning the entire systems development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Provide the coordination for the strategic planning, design, development, user training, implementation, maintenance and upgrade of high quality and cost-effective technology solutions
  • Ensure technology solutions are aligned with investment objective and priorities
  • Provide code reviews, mentorship, solution recommendation to your team members
  • Lead software development projects and work with product owners to deliver products within committed timeline
  • Working with developers to prepare architecture design document for various projects
  • Build and maintain relationships with key business stakeholders, other managers and system vendors
  • Work with key business stakeholders to understand and confirm investment objectives, processes and priorities
  • Define, analyze and document business requirements with business stakeholders
  • Plan, prioritize and co-ordinate internal resources to ensure that systems run smoothly and efficiently
  • Stay current with investment process and industry standards through continuous learning and research
  • Ensure reliability of current systems and liaise between other teams to ensure optimal outcome and aligns with enterprise goal

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process

What You Bring

Experience: You have a minimum of 4+ years’ experience working in leadership role.

Knowledge: You have an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or similar. Experience working in an institutional investment firm is an asset.

Leadership: Strong leadership skills including planning and leading in projects

Tech Savvy: You are proficient using .NET, MS SQL, and cloud technology (e.g. Azure). You are open to learn new technology and apply them under various system and business constraints.

Analytic & Strategic: You possess an analytical mind, enjoy solving problems, and have an ability to perform deep thoughtful analysis to discover solutions.

Operational Excellence: You have an approach and track record in achieving operational excellence where personal drive, high quality work, and getting things done are critical success factors.

Collaborative Communication: You have a collaborative spirit that helps you work well with others and communicate effectively.
