The Opportunity

JOB DESCRIPTION

Make your mark while you grow your career! The Cybersecurity Architect coordinates the design, build and maintenance of the security architecture for Canadian Natural’s IT infrastructure. The role is responsible to ensure all security solutions align with our cybersecurity framework, strategies, industry standards and regulatory requirements. The Cybersecurity Architect is a key stakeholder in the definition of security controls, protocols, infrastructure architectures, and ensures that security systems are robust against cyber threats.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain security roadmaps, strategies and architecture for on-premises and cloud environments
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures and documentation
  • Conduct and participate in security risk assessments and audits
  • Recommend and implement security controls and mitigations to reduce exposure
  • Ensure security practices comply with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Follow, maintain and improve incident response plans, procedures, and playbooks to provide security resilience
  • Stay current with cybersecurity threats and adjust security strategies and controls
  • Assist with and provide technical guidance for legal discovery and production
  • Collaborate and communication across the organization to ensure security architecture meets business goals without hindering productivity

What You Bring To The Role

  • University degree, or technical diploma in information technology, cybersecurity or applicable field
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in cyber security, incident response and operations
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of security roadmaps, strategy and architecture
  • Strong understanding and application of security frameworks and practices (CIS Controls, NIST, ISO) and compliance regulations (SOX, PIPEDA, GDPR)
  • Experience in network security, firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, DLS and encryption protocols
  • Experience with advanced threat detection and remediation tools (EDR, XDR, SOAR)
  • Experience with Azure and AWS cloud security architecture
  • Knowledge of SIEM, vulnerability management, threat intelligence and identity access management systems
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or TOGAF are preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
