Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in London, Kingston, or Kitchener, Ontario. As a technical leader, you will oversee mechanical projects, provide design strategies, and mentor junior engineers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and stamping mechanical projects of varying complexities
  • Leading design strategies and concept development
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to intermediate and junior engineers
  • Conducting audits, feasibility assessments, and investigations
  • Developing mechanical design standards and practices
  • Troubleshooting construction issues
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and other engineering disciplines
  • Conducting site visits and construction phase services

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in building services
  • Engineering license in Ontario with at least 5 years of Canadian experience
  • Design experience with central plant systems (hot water, steam, chilled water)
  • Knowledge of DDC control systems and sequencing
  • Familiarity with OBC, ASHRAE, CSA, and ASPE standards
  • Experience in multiple industries (commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
