The Opportunity


Leavitt Machinery is looking for a detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. As the Intermediate Accountant, you will work closely with senior members of our Finance team and will be responsible for full-cycle accounting.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


As the Intermediate Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:


  • Reconcile differences between the general ledger and schedules provided by borrowers
  • Compile asset listings, accounts receivable and payable, and parts listings for borrowing base reports
  • Assist in producing monthly financial statements, including consolidated EBITDA reports
  • Perform monthly interest calculations and reconcile interest payments to bank statements
  • Assist Senior Accountants with month-end financial reporting
  • Assist with preparing monthly borrowing base reports for loan facilities
  • Support with completing monthly bank covenant reporting
  • Coordinate various audits by collaborating with internal accountants and acting as a liaison with external auditors, and gathering supporting documentation


Required Skills & Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:


  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as business, finance or accounting
  • In the process of obtaining a CPA designation
  • At least two years of accounting work experience, preferably in a large organization
  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation under ASPE
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability and motivation to work independently with minimal supervision

The base pay range for this role is: $62,000 to $72,000 per year, depending on experience.


This is a remote role based in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
