Senior Electrical Engineer

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer in the oil & gas industry in Sarnia, Ontario.

A Typical Day

• Prepare E&I design reports during project development.
• Participate / contribute during hazards and operability reviews (HAZOPs), process safety checklists reviews.
• Assist with developing / revising in-house Engineering (E&I) standards, Focus on maintaining / building Production Plant relationships.
• Prepare E&I construction work packages during project execution.
• Provide E&I support during construction, Prepare E&I Engineering manhour estimates.
• Ensure E&I support during project closure (As-Built documents, spare parts set-up).
• Assist Project Engineer with Engineering schedule development / updates, Lead / mentor E&I Design team to ensure project deliverables are achieved as required.
  
  

Successful Candidates Will Have

• Engineering Undergraduate Degree: P.Eng in Ontario preferred.
• 5 to 10 years practical project experience with the following areas would be an asset:
• Electrical Design, medium & low voltage motor control centers (MCCs) and power distribution, Power System Study software (SKM), Electrical heat tracing / Lighting / grounding design.
• Instrumentation Design: Pressure / temperature / flow transmitters, nuclear level gauges, Gas / water hydrocarbon analyzers, density / pH analyzers.
• Control systems Design: Foxboro DCS, Trident SIS PLC, GE RX3i PLC, Rockwell Logix 5000 PLC, Bently-Nevada condition monitoring, Control narratives, cause & effect charts, Network architecture diagrams, Safety Integrated Systems (SIS), SIL verifications (exSILentia)
• Technical expertise in one area and familiarity in other areas is acceptable.
• Ability to interact / communicate with all stakeholders of the project team, both written and verbal, Ability to manage multiple complicated tasks with under pressure. Note: Candidates stronger in I&C than electrical, but can do electrical design would be considered.
• Demonstrated team leadership experience within the oil and gas industry (EPCM) with excellent knowledge of engineering protocols, Experience in brownfield design an asset, Strong computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, SAP, various databases. Purchase requisitions, Construction Work Packages (CWPs), Operating Procedures / Maintenance Plans.
