Financial Analyst

Our client in Calgary is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join their finance department on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for driving business success through financial insights. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making, financial planning, and performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial modeling, to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
• Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts to senior management, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
• Evaluate and monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to gather financial data and support decision-making processes.
• Ad-hoc duties as requested.
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role, with a strong understanding of financial principles and concepts.
• Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
• Experience with QByte and Open Invoice
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and precision.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience with financial systems such as Peoplesoft Financial is a plus.
