The Bioassay Development Co-Op for Cytiva Nanomedicine is responsible for assisting the Bioassay Development team to develop various methods to determine the in vitro potency of lipid nanoparticles.
This position is part of the Biopharma Services team located in Vancouver, BC and will be onsite. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

The Bioassay Development Co-Op for Cytiva Nanomedicine is responsible for assisting the Bioassay Development team to develop various methods to determine the in vitro potency of lipid nanoparticles.
This position is part of the Biopharma Services team located in Vancouver, BC and will be onsite. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What you'll do:
- Refer to available literature to prepare study plans and participate in experimental design, problem-solving and technical discussions.
- Design and perform experiments to analyze the in-vitro potency of drug formulations using standard techniques such as western blot, flow cytometry and high-throughput microscopy.
- Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports and technical presentations.
- Assist with daily tasks in the lab such as cell culture maintenance, buffer preparation, ordering, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A third- or fourth-year University Program in Biology, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical and Biological Engineering, or relevant disciplines with hands-on experience in the laboratory.
- General knowledge of bioassay techniques.
- Experience with standard molecular biology techniques such as Western blots, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, qPCR, and nanoparticle chemistry/fundamentals is an asset.
- Hands on experience with maintaining cell cultures and standard tissue culture techniques is an asset.
- Resourceful, flexible, detail-oriented, organized and with excellent communication skills.
