In your job as Director of Finance with Swap Robotics, you have great knowledge of startup culture and tech. At work, you are responsible for managing and overseeing all financial affairs for the company, including but not limited to financial and strategic business goal planning. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Director of Operations, you will be involved in day-to-day business operations and have the opportunity to make positive budgetary impacts within the organization as a whole. As someone who is the financial expert for every department in the organization, you possess incredible leadership skills and unmatched problem-solving abilities. You have no trouble making calculated and effective decisions regarding the company's financial goals, which is what sets you apart from others. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Determine realistic goals and establish financial controls to maintain maximum productivity
  • Manage and oversee all financial affairs for the organization
  • Allocate company funds accordingly to ensure each department can function at an optimal pace
  • Delegate responsibilities to all department supervisors and managers
  • Oversee & prepare complex financial reports and communicate them to investors/clients in easy-to-understand terms
  • Determine, manage and track departmental KPIs
  • Work closely with the CEO to devise financial plans and implement business strategies 
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations to manage daily business operations
  • Provide insight and trusted counsel to the CEO and execute the company’s plan for growth
  • Responsible for managing the year-end audit with external auditors
  • Analyze data and metrics to forecast, create and maintain annual budgets 
  • Ensure Regulatory and Tax compliance for both Canadian and US legal entities
  • Third-party reporting on a quarterly and annual basis


Required Skills/Experience:

  • CPA or CMA designation
  • Minimum post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 7+ years experience in high-level financial roles
  • 5+ years experience in a leadership or managerial role 
  • 5+ years experience doing year-end audits
  • Canadian and US GAAP experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience reading and interpreting complex financial reports
  • In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, and numeracy
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Exceptional ability to monitor, allocate, and control finances
  • Excellent problem-solving attitude and abilities

Salary Range: $110,000 - 120,000 + stock options
