Reporting to the Manager of Network Design, the AutoCAD Operator will be responsible for creating CAD drawings of hybrid fiber coaxial network designs.

Responsibilities:

  • Create AutoCAD MAP drawings for construction from design files that are completed by a System Designer.
  • Provide assistant to Designer in preparation of proposed design and permitting drawing/application.
  • Create detailed drawings for municipalities and other utilities for the purpose of permitting.
  • Maintain pole records up to date.
  • Comprehend, update and maintain as-built drawings into the GIS mapping database.
  • Work with outside sourced base maps to ensure they are in proper geospatial coordinates for field use.
  • Create construct packages for contractors including all plotting and organizing of the packages.
  • Keep records up to date including updating as-built information.
  • The successful candidate will be a customer focused, self-starter who is adaptable to change and is effective in decision making and troubleshooting. A fast learner, the successful candidate is able to multi-task in a very busy and ever-changing environment while following Eastlink Design standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year formal training in AutoCAD or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of mapping and geo-referencing.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to work efficiently within fast paced environments.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD script writing preferred.
  • Knowledge in CATV or OSP telecom facilities preferred.
