YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Technical, Quality, and Environmental Manager, the Process Engineer Co-op will be involved with projects and maintenance centered on process systems. This role will be exposed to process optimization, energy studies, environmental improvements, product quality, and audits.

Applicants must be enrolled in post-secondary education in their 3 rd or 4 th year Chemical Engineering. Preference will be given to students who have completed courses in fluid dynamics and/or thermodynamics.

This Co-op position will begin in January 2025. An 8-Month term is preferred but we will accept applications for a 4-month term. Please specify in your resume what length of term you desire.

Your Responsibilities

ü Provide engineering support for pulp manufacturing, renewable power generation and environmental systems.

ü Conduct evaluations and audits for environmental, energy, cost and process optimization projects.

ü Develop procedures.

ü Be part of a team that promotes continuous learning, coaching and mentoring.

ü Support the Strategic Energy Management Plan.

ü Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills

ü Ability to work across organizational boundaries

ü Strong organizational skills

ü Self-starter with strong personal initiative and follow-through

Your Qualifications

Required:

ü Attending post-secondary education – 3 rd or 4 th year Chemical Engineering

ü Interpret and generate process flow drawings

ü Good problem-solving skills

ü Strong commitment to safety and quality

ü Understanding of mass and energy balances

ü Eligibility to work in Canada

ü Access to reliable transportation

Preferred:

ü Pulp and Paper experience

ü Familiar with AutoCAD skills

ü Experience working with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)

ü Courses in fluid dynamics and/or thermodynamics
