Position Overview
As our Operations Manager, you will be a key member of our FortisBC LNG team leading your team at our Tilbury facility . As a passionate leader, you will manage the performance of the facility by providing operational input and day-to-day management guidance on operations and maintenance. You’ll do all this by leading a great team of unionized employees through operational practices that follow existing policies and procedures, all while ensuring safety is top of mind.

Position Overview
As our Operations Manager, you will be a key member of our FortisBC LNG team leading your team at our Tilbury facility . As a passionate leader, you will manage the performance of the facility by providing operational input and day-to-day management guidance on operations and maintenance. You’ll do all this by leading a great team of unionized employees through operational practices that follow existing policies and procedures, all while ensuring safety is top of mind.
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with local operators and other support groups to ensure key objectives are effectively implemented in accordance with FortisBC corporate strategies.
- Provide leadership in safe operations, storage, loading, turnarounds, and projects at Tilbury.
- Ensure overall security and supply of LNG to support gas portfolio, transmission system and LNG customers.
- Collaborate with operations, gas control, marketing and engineering to ensure capacity, reliable operations and customer service.
- Provide leadership in maintaining asset health of LNG facilities and play a key role in supporting opportunities to market LNG as an energy source to customers.
- Lead the implementation of the Process Safety Management System for the Tilbury LNG Facility.
- Participate in the development and effectively execute the Strategic Business Plan, Capital Plan and Talent Plan.
- Lead a team of Operators, including managing scheduling, training, performance and conflict management.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent from a recognized program or certification as 4th class (or higher) Power Engineer, or other technical/trade education
- Minimum of 8 years’ recent, related experience in in a process plant, with at least 3 or more years in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience in plant startup, shutdown, emergency handling, safe equipment handover, and maintenance work planning.
- Leadership in a unionized environment is a strong asset.
- A proven track record in delivering results on schedule and budget.
- A leader who builds genuine relationships through collaboration and partnerships.
