Position: Accounting Technician

Location: Onsite in Peterborough

Our agency is currently recruiting on behalf of a client for an Accounting Technician to work full-time onsite in Peterborough. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a key role in managing full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, and providing financial reporting to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive bookkeeping services using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other cloud-based systems.
• Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with remittance schedules.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns, T4s, T4As, T5018s, and ROEs.
• Perform account reconciliations and generate accurate, timely financial reports.
• Support client onboarding and help develop efficient accounting workflows.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and provide ongoing support for their accounting needs.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a public practice or servicing multiple clients.
• Proficiency with cloud-based accounting software and intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
