Project Cost Analyst

Description

We are searching for a Project Accountant to join our team located in New Westminster, British Columbia. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of asset and project accounting within the industry. This role comprises of dealing with project costs, addressing capitalization-related queries, and maintaining continuity schedules. This job offers a short term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in clearing the backlog of assets awaiting capitalization.
• Review project costs marked for capitalization and accurately input them into the system.
• Collaborate with project managers and directors
• Apply and interpret the company's capitalization policies as needed.
• Utilize extensive asset and project accounting expertise in day-to-day operations.
• Effectively communicate with colleagues and senior leaders across the organization.
• Regularly monitor the fixed assets sub-system to ensure data accuracy.
• Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and project managers on the capitalization of projects and disposal of fixed assets.
  
  

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of Capital Assets and Fixed Asset Accounting is required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Good at Stakeholder Management, able to effectively communicate with various parties involved in projects
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
