FIELD IT ANALYST – RED DEER (RDC)
Reporting to the Electronics Manager, the Field IT Analyst will support users, analyze information, problems and improve software solutions with a commitment to excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities
- Responsible for system lifecycle management from setup to recycling of computer assets which includes maintaining accurate inventories of all parts and machines
- Provide expert IT knowledge to resolve day-to-day IT issues or technical support issues, which arise with DAS recording systems; manage all local support issues
- Build, design, examine and implement well organized and structured IT systems
- Report Standards issues and provide appropriate solutions
- Setup and configure new and existing field equipment desktops, laptops, printers and specific data acquisition software; supply advice and technical training to new field employees on all IT procedures and processes.
- Provide enhancements to applications and provide support to field on third party software
- Stay abreast of new technologies
- Perform standard troubleshooting and maintenance of all IT Environments ranging from field desktops, laptops, printers, servers, switches, firewalls, access points and application issues; engaging external vendors where necessary
- Gather feedback from end-users on support to improve systems and processes
- Maintenance of database files as required by Service Line
- Participate in on-call weekly rotation for support problems that may arise after hours
- Plan, monitor, organize and oversee assigned project work and incorporate into daily operational activities
- Create reports as required
- Provide field support/base coverage when equipment cannot make it to nearest support base
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant experience preferred
- Minimum of one year of on-call troubleshooting experience
- A+ and Network+ Certification an asset
- Deep understanding of business and technology requirements
- Ability to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt to changing working conditions
- Ability to perform work independently, accurately and thoroughly with a high attention to detail
- Ability to work at a fast pace and produce quality work
- Ability to be organized and follow a systematic method of performing a task
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Skilled in problem-solving techniques

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- 10 days on/4 days off
- On call 24-hours for 7 days during shift
- Must live near base of employment
- Pre-employment medical testing required
- Working in all weather conditions
