About The Work Environment

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About You

You are a self-starter and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in deposit operations within financial services industry. You have a deep understanding of agent/broker relationships, deposit products, regulatory requirements, and account management systems. You excel in handling complex transactions and ensuring accurate reporting. You have strong analytical skills that allow you to reconcile discrepancies quickly, while your excellent communication skills enable you to build and maintain strong relationships. You are proactive, capable of mentoring junior staff, and are always looking for ways to improve processes. You have a commitment to accuracy, compliance, risk management, and exceptional customer service and this is evident in your day-to-day work.

About The Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in an administrative and or customer service role preferably within Trust/Broker or Financial Services industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication (Written & verbal) & interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agent/Broker relationship, deposit products& services and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with clients and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong analytical skill and ability to manage multiple priorities & deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Good understanding of accounts reconciliation, payment items for exchanges and settlement.
  • Proficiency in banking systems; DNA Platform/Fiserv and/or PPLUS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good understanding of Broker/Agent relationship and governance is considered an asset.
  • CRA tax submission & AML/KYC experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Fintech partners is considered an asset.

About The Day-to-day

  • Accurately process new client account openings within the Agent Business while complying with Peoples Account Opening policies and procedures along with adhering to AML/KYC compliance.
  • Accurately processing Agent requests– includes Agent registrations, re-registrations, transactional postings, and month-end responsibilities – commission payments, reporting.
  • Acts as a first-level point of contact for clients and external partners by addressing enquiries and resolving issues related to Agent/Broker relationship.
  • Ensure department policies and procedures (i.e., privacy protection, AML/KYC) are followed when providing service to clients and performing account maintenance.
  • Maintain a knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements such as CDIC, OSFI and AML/KYC compliance impacting your day-to-day work.
  • Perform financial adjustments and non-financial maintenance when necessary to ensure that customer and business expectations are met.
  • Back-office functions relating to various daily reconciliations, cheque processing, Wire transfers and providing relevant reports as required.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to Deposits.
  • Participate in system upgrade testing and special projects when required.
  • Assist with the development of procedures and processes where appropriate, assist in training, of new or current staff when required.
  • Responsible to ensure work is balanced at end of day.

Compensation

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $58,000 and $63,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
