Salary range for the position is $106,026 to $152,413. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

How will you make an impact?

The Manager, Business Operations is responsible to implement, maintain and standardize the financial aspects of Interior Health’s key strategic priorities, including but not limited to Ministry of Health (MoH) targeted funding and business operations capital processes.

The Manager manages a team of Business Consultants who are assigned to the MoH targeted funding areas to develop consistent financial models, budgeting, standard cost tracking and reporting and effective strategies to maximize targeted funding available to IH. The Manager will play a key role in creating consistency in the financial management and support of the different funding streams and increase awareness and understanding of targeted funding within the broader Business Operations and Business Strategy teams and IH operational leadership. The Manager provides input and makes recommendations to the Corporate Directors, Business Operations and Business Strategy, which will be used for presentations and decisions by the VP Leadership teams, Chief Financial Officer, and the Senior Executive Team on items such as targeted funding spending, forecasting and strategies to fully utilize funds.

What will you work on?

  • Participates and leads strategic planning processes and projects that have IH-wide impacts and require consultation with other jurisdictions and senior executive.
  • Is accountable for allocating targeted funding resources and approving budget recommendations and remedial strategies prepared by others.
  • Develops and maintains policies, principles and processes surrounding MoH targeted funding allocation, costing models, budgeting and reporting.
  • Directs all activities related to standardization initiatives.
  • Guides and mentors team members.
  • Develops and fosters relationships with key internal and external partners (e.g., IH leadership groups, other Health Authorities, provincial business partners, IH Foundations and Auxiliaries),
  • to understand targeted funding requirements and ensure compliance with funding expectations, and
  • to make recommendations on improving internal processes for the Business Operations role within the IH capital process
  • Responsible for staffing functions including daily assignment, recruitment, hiring, ongoing development, performance management, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, and termination, as required.
  • Provides direction and leadership to the Business Operations, Business Strategy and Capital Finance & Controller teams.
  • In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.
  • Performs other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
