Salary And Benefits

Level 1: $50,068.20 - $77,040.60 (Group G), under review;

Level 2: $58,968.00 - $90,708.80 (Group J), under review; along with a competitive benefits package complete with extended health, dental and travel benefits, access to an Employee and Family Assistance Plan, and enrollment in OMERS (Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System) pension plan.

About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology, this position is part of the IT Client Services team and is responsible for providing technical support in a Windows environment, Microsoft 365 (M365), and Office suite applications. This role will involve troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up new equipment, and managing user accounts for all City of Sarnia users ensuring a consistently positive user experience across the entire City of Sarnia staff and Members of Council.

Qualifications

Level 1:

  • Two (2) year diploma in Computer Studies
  • One (1) year of related experience
  • Class G driver’s license with an abstract acceptable to City guidelines

Level 2

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Five (5) years of related experience
  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, or equivalent
  • Class G driver’s license with an abstract acceptable

Demonstrated Skills And Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft applications
  • Experience with Active Directory, Exchange Online, and SharePoint Online
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

The successful candidate will be placed into the Level 1 or Level II classification based on meeting the appropriate minimum requirements.
