Role Description

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Stores, the Regional Director is responsible for the performance and operations of stores within their Region. The Regional Director is accountable for maximizing business growth and performance of the region by providing leadership to the store management teams to achieve annual performance and financial goals, implement and adopt strategic initiatives, and promote a culture of safety. This role collaborates in a team with the other Regional Directors at Kal Tire and is integral to the full scope of store operations and instrumental in strengthening the business model for future growth and agility.

Core Responsibilities

  • Works with the SVP, Stores to establish overall growth and translates corporate strategies into regional operational plans.
  • Leads and executes regional store operations in alignment with business plans to achieve or exceed revenue targets, profit, cash flow and business goals.
  • Develops plans that drive operational efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Builds, maintains, and oversees execution of various programs including retail, commercial, e-commerce, mobile commercial service, light duty fleet, outside and inside sales. This includes operational plans for the team, measuring and delivering results.
  • Executes and oversees company directed promotions and marketing initiatives; collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop tactics to optimize implementation of promotional programs.
  • Participates in design of new stores or re-design of existing stores.
  • Regularly examines operational measures and KPIs to look for opportunities to improve safety, quality, customer satisfaction, team development and cost management.
  • Provides strategic direction, vision and leadership to direct reports including coaching, mentoring, and developing.
  • Develops and prepares leadership talent to position for expansion and ensure succession planning.
  • Navigates between strategy and operational execution by visiting stores regularly to support business plans including marketing and sales, audits adherence to operational standards and identifies opportunities to improve performance.
  • Ensures the region is adaptable and responsive to customer needs, problems, opportunities and a changing marketplace.
  • Embraces and champions a culture of change; encourages two-way communication and proactively communicates the “why” and benefits of the change to drive adoption.
  • Fosters a respectful, inclusive regional culture that prioritizes safety, inspires collaboration, and demonstrates appreciation for support provided by the Vernon office, supply chain and retreading.
  • Actively sponsors charity and fundraising activities to support local community involvement within the region.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 15 years business/operations experience which includes a minimum of 7 years of managing multiple, geographically dispersed locations with profit and loss statements.
  • Experience in managing, mentoring, coaching and developing employees and promoting business growth within the organization.
  • Experience in developing a strategic plan for operational functions and an ability to clearly articulate the vision.

  • Proven experience using data in a measurable way to achieve a specific strategic result that is relevant to the overall strategy.
  • Track record of successful cross-functional leadership
  • Experience as a change sponsor building high-performing teams in complex and rapidly changing environments.
  • Proven track record of driving best practices, improving productivity and profitability throughout operations.

  • The target salary range for this position is $154,641 to $181,930 per year based on experience and an annual variable bonus structure.

Special Requirements
