The Specialist, Trainer is a key member of the Team who works across functions to drive safety, quality and performance excellence through implementation, support and use of digital tools and technology; Poka. In addition to driving digital innovation they will help foster continuous improvement culture at Barry Callebaut Brantford. The Specialist, Trainer ensures food and employee safety in their daily routine.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Manage, facilitate and update all training programs.
  • Lead the development and deployment of the POKA Connected Worker Platform.
  • Work directly with Operations Managers and Supervisors to identify and assess training needs.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and systems for all shifts.
  • Increase the digital system capabilities of all operational stakeholders through on the job training and coaching.
  • Act as a true coach linking the operators and management team while creating a data driven culture.
  • Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics – use data visualization tools such as POKA to create dashboards and tools to support data driven decisions and actions.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and track results.
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, scope and business rationale for training programs/projects.
  • Meets/ exceeds requirements for food safety and employee safety.

About You

  • Three (3) – five (5) years’ experience in a Training role, required.
  • Post-secondary education in English, Journalism or related field a plus.
  • Experience with POKA including Microsoft Office and Google Workplace required.
  • Experience in continuous improvement, change management and problem solving through the use of quantitative, analytical, and process improvement.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills a must.
  • Technical writing experience is considered a plus.
  • Travel: occasional 10% to 30% based on assigned project locations.
  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to heat.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Ability to support and work in a 24/7 environment a must.
