PlayStation is looking for a Sr. SDET with a strong knowledge background in UI and API testing to join our dynamic team. In this role, you can expect to engage with engineers, products owners, and designers to drive an extremely high quality bar for products which are used by over 100 million people. You'll craft new automation systems, improve existing ones, drive technical excellence, and develop new tools to tackle test problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive testing of APIs to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to understand API requirements and design test cases.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated tests using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring their timely resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Continuously improve and optimize test coverage and automation scripts.
  • Work closely with the development team to facilitate the integration and testing of APIs within the software architecture.
  • Manage short- and long-term test and automation initiatives
  • Come up with innovative solutions to organizational problems

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge
  • 5+ years of experience in UI and API automation
  • Strong understanding of API testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, or JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as needed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Test or development experience on a non-PC device (phone/game console/set-top box, etc.)
  • Experience with React Native
  • Experience developing or writing test code for a game console
  • Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI).
  • Experience with microservices architecture and testing strategies
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)
