Registered Nurse- Cardiac Catheterization Lab- Part Time

Duties

• Participates and collaborates with other health care providers in provision of patient care.
• Effectively uses the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the patient.
• Provides health teaching to patients and family.
• Working in a fast paced environment, assisting cardiologist with invasive cardiac procedures including angiography, angioplasty, right heart catheterizations and measurements, pacemaker insertions.
• Post procedure monitoring including removal of femoral sheaths.
• Working wearing lead apron/vest and thyroid collar (10-15 lbs) all day.
  
  

Qualifications

• Certificate of competency in Ontario.
• ACLS certification, current within last two years with experience.
• Current certification in venipuncture (I.V. certification).
• ECG Interpretation .
  
  

Experience

• 2 years critical care experience and/or cardiac cath lab experience.
• 2 years current hemodynamic monitoring experience.
• Experience with titration of cardiac medications, inotropes and invasive cardiac monitoring.
  
  

Skills

• Demonstrated clinical competency in the management and care of patients.
• Knowledgeable in the utilization and care of all mechanical equipment required for patient care.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills .
