Description

We are looking to add a Controller to our Client's team in London, Ontario. The Controller will play a crucial role in providing financial leadership, managing overall financial operations, and contributing to financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role falls within the industry and will be instrumental in driving process improvements across finance functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close process which includes accurate reporting of transactions, reconciliations, accruals, and budget variance analysis.
  • Prepare financial statements and generate ad hoc reports.
  • Lead the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes and team members.
  • Spearhead special projects such as the development of a Standard Costing process, Divisional Margin reporting, and Project/Customer Profitability analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with foreign sales tax regulations.
  • Oversee transactions of foreign offices and maintain the CAPEX tracker up-to-date.
  • Ensure timely payments of local, provincial, and federal taxes.
  • Organize and manage financial records, setting procedures for retention, protection, and disposal of records.
  • Carry out other duties that may not be listed in this description but are relevant to the role.
  • Use accounting software systems, such as 3M and ADP - Financial Services, to carry out tasks efficiently.
  • Apply knowledge of CRM, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) in performing duties.
  • Perform auditing tasks, manage budget processes, and consolidate financial statements.
  • Carry out reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and other month-end financial tasks.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of finance and accounting.
  • Proficiency in 3M and other relevant accounting software systems.
  • Experience with ADP - Financial Services is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Profound knowledge in accounting functions and principles.
  • Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Skills in auditing, budget processes, and financial statements consolidation.
  • Ability to perform reconciliations and make journal entries.
  • Expertise in month end close and month-end financial processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.
