As an experienced Project Manager in the Civil & Infrastructure Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large-scale building and infrastructure projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - while working closely with our client groups and subcontractors and acting as an integral part of our projects team. Please note that this role is based at a remote project site close to the Lower Mainland of Vancouver. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working within this environment.

What You Will Do

  • Grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants and clients to achieve the project goals and vision.
  • Develop and drive the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met.
  • Put your problem-solving skills to work and recommend innovative methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiency to ensure project excellence and productivity.
  • Use your proactive approach to ensure compliance with our first-class Quality Program.
  • Utilize your experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities.
  • Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and respect project budgets, costs and associated purchasing.
  • Share your knowledge and be a role model through mentorship opportunities with project team members.
  • Keep the lines of communication open regarding project status and updates.
  • Be an expert in risk management to ensure any associated project risk is minimized.
  • Take pride in compiling and completing companywide project reports.
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project.Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards to promote Pomerleau’s HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project.
  • Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process.

This role could be for you if you have

  • 10+ years’ Project Management experience in the civil & infrastructure construction industry.
  • University Degree/Technology Diploma in Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • A proven track record of project success and team collaboration.
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project and technical issues to bring the project to successful completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project methodologies, financial management, as well as building codes and associated legislation.
  • Role model status for health and safety as well as quality.
  • A passion to develop, maintain and execute the project schedule.
  • Good computer skills and previous experience with scheduling software.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $100,000 - $140,000 plus applicable project uplift. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
