Job Description:

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Sr. Project Manager to with experience to manage business transformation projects as needed.


Responsibilities:

• Work with the Project Sponsor to identify strategic drivers for projects and the benefits and measurements that will result from the project delivery.

• Develop and maintain detailed project charters, plans and budgets including activities, deliverables and milestone due dates.

• Manage project scheduling, estimating, forecasting, budget monitoring and cost reporting for assigned projects.

• Determine the resource requirements and dependencies to successfully deliver the project and assign tasks to team resources.

• Build working relationships and communicate regularly with the immediate team, and those outside of the immediate team that have an effect on project completion.

• Plan, assign and direct the work of cross-functional project team members. Provide coaching and mentorship as required. Team members may include operational and technical staff, contractors and vendors.

• Manage project issues, proactively mitigate project risks, and lead conflict resolution.

• Makes decisions and recommendations regarding projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome.

• Ensure quality and completeness of the project delivery.

• Manage the creation of required project documentation.

• Ensure adherence to operational standards and guidelines.

• Produce regular project status reports as well as periodic update presentations to Steering Committees and other management staff.

• Define and measure project performance indicators and take appropriate corrective action. Conduct post-implementation reviews to ensure continuous improvement and learning.

• Keep current with trends and issues in the Information Technology (IT) industry.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of IT project management experience with at least 5 years in a Project Manager role working with budgets, complex systems and interfaces.

• Senior PM expertise to manage business transformation projects as needed.

• Experience communicating across all levels and organizations.

• Experience in project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.

• University degree in the field of computer science or business administration or equivalent professional experience.

• Expertise with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Effective negotiator with key internal and external stakeholders.

• Project Management Professional (PMP

Hourly rate: $110 per hour.
