Lafarge Canada provides Construction services in the City of Prince George and surrounding areas. Lafarge Canada is based in Prince George, BC and is currently seeking seasonal, full-time Skidsteer Operator for our 2024 construction season.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate skid steer loader for paving tasks such as material transport and spreading
  • Handle asphalt and other paving materials with precision
  • Assist in site preparation, ensuring proper grading and leveling
  • Prioritize safety during all paving operations
  • Communicate effectively with paving crew for smooth workflow
  • Conduct basic equipment checks to maintain optimal performance
  • Ensure quality control in material application for a smooth, durable surface
  • Work efficiently to meet paving project deadlines


Safety & Enviornment:

  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided
  • All spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)


Maintenance:

  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on their loader including, includes washing and cleaning the operator’s cab inside and out, greasing, refueling, changing oil and filters, and maintaining all fluid levels
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records for any piece of equipment operated, keeping accurate and thorough records of the maintenance performed, the hours on the unit, date, time, etc.; complete proof of regular service may be required


Qualifications

  • The successful applicant will possess the following:
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Min 2 years of experience operating a Skid Steer
  • Knowledge of City of Prince Geroge
  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Knowledge of the City of Prince George and surrounding area
  • Ability to read survey markings


In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling.

As part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.
