Position Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Proactive in the elimination of workplace accidents and injuries.
  • Maintain quality and legislative requirements by adhering to and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices GMP, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures SSOP, and Standard Operating Procedures SOP, British Retail Consortium BRC.
  • Responsible and Accountable for tracking daily visual and swab audits making the appropriate individuals aware of any deficiencies with regular feedback.
  • Plan, direct, engage and understand daily and non-daily sanitation operations while anticipating and troubleshooting sanitation problems.
  • Complete sanitation plan by scheduling and assigning employees, establishing priorities, revising schedules, and resolving problems.
  • Oversee the dismantling, cleaning, reassembly and sanitizing of equipment, utensils in this plant environment.
  • Plan, conduct, and document monthly departmental Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation issues/changes.
  • Must be knowledgeable and be able to follow GMPs, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements

Educational Background & Work Experience

  • Post-secondary diploma and/or degree
  • Two years of supervisory work experience working in a unionize facility.
  • Experience with HACCP requirements, sanitation procedures, cleaning systems, chemicals, and health & safety
  • British Retail Consortium BRC experience would be an asset.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflict.
  • Able to manage and build a team independently.
  • Well established organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-starter with good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Continuous learner and willingness to embrace change.
  • Required to work on all shifts and weekends
