THE ROLE
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Tool and Die Maker for a custom machine shop located in St Catharines. The Tool and Die Maker will be responsible for custom builds specializing in tooling, gauges, fixtures and short-run, high-precision parts and assisting with assembly of complex products.

THE ROLE
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Tool and Die Maker for a custom machine shop located in St Catharines. The Tool and Die Maker will be responsible for custom builds specializing in tooling, gauges, fixtures and short-run, high-precision parts and assisting with assembly of complex products.

- Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings
- Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances
- Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts
- Measuring and marking metal stock for machining
- Programming machines and utilizing CAD and MasterCam
- Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines (both manual and automatic)
- Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions
- Filling, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish
- Fitting and assembling tools and die parts
- Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities
- Troubleshooting metal stamping dies to meet customer and quality expectations
- Assembly of complex products
- 4-6 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar position
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Journeyman's card or equivalent education
- Previous experience with CAD and Master Cam programming
